A Work in Progress in Progress

I felt like simply sharing some art today. Although, I'm sure you regular readers are probably still in awe of what an amazing life story Vanessa shared here yesterday. So I wanted to keep it light-hearted today and show some progress on an illustration I'm working on. The working title is "A Work in Progress", and it was named that because of my buddy Skylar who described marriage as just that, and he's absolutely right. 2010 especially, has been a really crazy year for my wife and I with all the changes in both our lives, but like I shared in an earlier post, we celebrated 9 years together in October. She nearly died when she realized how long it's been. I'm just lucky she' still with me! :D

So here for your viewing pleasure is a little glimpse at this new illustration. I wanted to literally bring her into my world. The one that exists in my noggin. If I've learned anything these past 9 years it's that nothing is trivial. It's in the little moments that life happens and where it really counts.

TB

P.S. A big hearty thank you to all of you who share the blog on twitter and facebook. Keep sharing and thank you for the support.

So cool. She will adore it.

One of my blogging friends is an amazing illustrator (very fairy-tale like images) and she surprised me by sending me an illustration she did of me. Charmed me to death.

There's nothing better than something made just for you but someone blessed with such gifts. :)

Hi Dennis,

Congrats on making it through and celebrating 9 years of marriage. Life is hard on all of us - especially in times of economic distress. Appreciation of one's partner goes a long way in maintaining a good relationship, and your public appreciation of your wife says a lot.

I love the smile you have on her face.

Keep smiling, loving, appreciating and you will prosper :)

Congratulations Dennis and I also saw the original sketch which I think you were working on very late at night.

It is a great work in progress and the expression on her face says it all, especially the smile.

What a sweet sketch you are sharing with us! Congratulations on your 9 years. My husband and I celebrated 40 years this past June. I must be doing something right because he asked me to renew our vows - for another 40 God willing.

@Jeannette I'm very sorry to hear that. It's so hard when you miss a special loved one. I lost my Father. Thank you for sharing and thanks for visiting.

@Patricia That is impressive. Something for me to aspire to.

@Keyuri Thanks so much, Keyuri. And you as well.

@Rob You're the man! :)
