5 Days of Awesome: DAY 3 - Mad Men

You gotta see Dayne's Day 3 sketch. I think it'll make a great print someday. So go and check it out! I decided to go a little different today, especially because today's sketch was inspired by one of my favorite shows that everyone should be watching... Mad Men. The show takes place in the early 60's in the advertising industry on Madison Ave in New York City. Everybody still drinks and smokes at work, and women are slowly crawling up the corporate ladder.

Hitting on your secretary was nowhere near being called sexual harassment. It was still considered being jovial. Don Draper is the main character who has a very mysterious past, but knows how to sell ice cubes to eskimos. With him in this sketch is his wife, Betty, and the office manager (and personal favorite) Joan Holloway. I think you can tell from the sketch who I like and who I don't. Any ideas for sketch 4? We'd like to hear it.

Love, love, love Mad Men!! Joan is my fav, too. Just a whole different world, wasn't it? Your sketch captures the overall angst of the show perfectly.

Helloo! Yes. I love to travel back in time once in a while! You're pretty good as well ;).

This is very very cool!! I need to start watching Mad Men! Yes. Ashamed to say I haven't watched it yet.

Oh! I second Tricia's idea! That would be awesome!

I like Mad Men. The whole course they have taken Betty down makes no sense. What you did not say in your intro was that Don is now going to marry his secretary.

Cool sketch.

I third Tricia's suggestion! You and your friend should add that to the poll. I bet it'd win!

Love your illustration -- who's that little smart face in the lower right corner? Sorry folks, but I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't like Mad Men. I've tried to watch but was bored. No slings and arrows, please!
