The 25 - Chun Li

I can't tell you how much money I spent along with friends playing Street Fighter II. It's all anyone wanted to play back in the 90's. It sparked a slew of arcade games that had the basic premise of unique fighters battling it out in exotic locations. I remember having a pocket full of quarters in my pocket and placing one on the screen of the arcade game behind those of other kids who were also waiting to play next.

Chun Li was the first big female fighter and much like Super Mario, I think she's instantly recognizable.  She's super cute and kicks ass, so what's not to like? Chun Li opened things up for female gamers. I think it started something, because today women are just as into gaming as men and I know they love Chun Li.

Doing this piece was sort of a love letter to those care free days where all we had to think about what how many games we'd be able to play and what flavor Slurpee we wanted after. This piece is up in the store for anyone who has fond memories of those days. YA STA!

Thanks for reading!
